The American Council on Exercise conducted a study testing the effectiveness of kettlebell training. Volunteers performed a 20-minute kettlebell workout. Heart rate, oxygen consumption and blood lactate levels were measured. On average, the participants burned 20.2 calories per minute – which is equivalent to running a 6 minute mile pace- and equates to 1,200 calories burned a hour!!!
